How a Trade Day Works

Urban Empire Trade Day is a buy / sell / trade session on our shop floor in Bennetts Green. Collectors bring singles and slabs. You deal with other collectors face to face. The store is open as normal.

What it is

People buy and sell from each other. Binders out. Talk. Trade or cash between collectors. Buy off the shop wall through the till if you want retail (including Pokémon).

What it isn’t

Not a card show. You cannot set up a stall. You cannot sell sealed product on Trade Day — singles and slabs only.

Rules that get you walked

  • No sealed product sold on Trade Day. Singles only.
  • No fake cards. Ever. Reprints, proxies sold as real, dodgy holos — out. If we cop a fake on the floor we will deal with it.
  • Don’t grab someone’s binder without asking.
  • Don’t misrepresent condition.
  • Don’t set up a stall.

Parents

Kids are welcome with an adult. We work hard to keep obvious bad actors out of the room. That is not a guarantee.

If your kid is trading, you stay close. Check the deal before it happens. Make sure they know what the card is worth — sold prices, not a screenshot of a listing. A bad trade at 11 years old is still a bad trade. We are not babysitting and we are not an appraisal desk for a 400-card binder in the rush.

What to bring

Singles and slabs you actually want to move. A want list on your phone. A bag you keep with you. Cash or however you and the other collector agree to settle peer deals. Store buys go through the till.

High-value cards stay protected. Don’t flash raw chase cards across a bench. Need sleeves or holders? Grading supplies are in store.

Etiquette

  • Ask before you touch.
  • Say if you’re buying, selling or trading.
  • Use sold comps, not “I saw it listed for…”
  • Walk away if the number’s wrong.
  • Peer deals are between you two. Staff step in if someone makes the room unsafe or abusive — not to referee every haggle.

Store vs collector

Buying from Urban Empire = retail, till, receipt.
Trading with another collector = you and them.
Selling a whole collection to the shop is a separate conversation at the counter on a normal day. You don’t need Trade Day for that — see We buy Pokémon & sports card collections.

Parking

Free parking at the complex, Unit 4/2 Templar Pl, Bennetts Green. Big days fill up. Allow time.
