The earliest English Base Set Pikachu cards featured red cheeks, matching Pikachu's original character design, before the artwork was changed to the more commonly encountered yellow-cheek version. Combined with the 1st Edition stamp and Shadowless design, this makes it a distinctive early printing of one of the hobby's most iconic Pokémon.
