A tough Michael Jordan insert from the hugely popular 2011-12 Fleer Retro Basketball release, this Metal Championship Hardware #1 H features Jordan representing the North Carolina Tar Heels. Fleer Retro was built around recreating many of the iconic Fleer, Metal and SkyBox designs of the 1990s using stars and legends, with Jordan headlining many of the product's most desirable inserts.

Metal Championship Hardware is a genuinely scarce pull, inserted just 1:90 packs. The set contains only 15 cards, with Jordan leading the checklist at #1 H, followed by LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Bill Walton, David Thompson, James Worthy, Grant Hill, Bill Russell and other championship names.

Unlike Jordan's NBA-licensed 1990s cards, Upper Deck's post-NBA-license Fleer Retro release depicts Jordan through his North Carolina collegiate affiliation. The combination of the retro Metal design, small checklist and tough 1:90 pack odds makes this a much more significant Jordan card than an ordinary modern-era insert.
